Amita Vasudeva - Biography
Amita Vasudeva is the principal of the Law Office of Amita Vasudeva. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is part of an immigrant family: her parents and brother immigrated from the Punjab region of India in the mid-1960s; her husband immigrated from West Bengal in the 1990s; and many other members of her extended family have also come to the U.S. from various parts of India.
Since graduating from law school in 1998, Ms. Vasudeva has worked exclusively in the area of U.S. immigration law, advocating for and guiding individuals from all parts of the globe through the maze of the U.S. immigration system. In that time, she has worked for several prominent, nationally known law organizations -- in Boston, New York, and San Francisco. She has counseled clients across the country and abroad in matters of family and business immigration law. She is licensed to practice in the areas of immigration and naturalization in any State of the U.S.
Ms. Vasudeva has conducted presentations and has written about immigration law for attorneys as a faculty member at Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and through the Palo Alto Area Bar Association. She has also presented on legal matters for non-attorneys through her affiliation with community-based organizations, and as the author of a monthly immigration column for a New England-based newspaper. Ms. Vasudeva is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
